Hi,

I want to prepare my own hierarchical view of bookmarks. Is it possible? Maybe it would be possible using scripting engine?

Hi Piotr,

"You own view" What do you mean? You own window, your own set of bookmarks?

In any case, bookmarks are not exposed via scripting. That's bad news.
However, it's not hard to add, since, it was almost done a lot of times ago. So probably we can recheck it and in case if it does what you need, we can enable it in nearest update.

Thank you,
Alex

Sorry, it was really unclear. I just wanted to group pages into chapters because printing page by page gave me a TOC containing a list of pages which was not I expected ;) I think, it would be an easy task if there was a way to add/remove new nodes (bookmarks) and reorganize existing ones (i.e. using drag&drop).

Yes, it was almost done, but now it is switched off.
I hope we can re enable it in one of the next builds.

Hi,
I was playing a bit with bookmarks. I noticed that it was possible to add a bookmark using context menu - that was great :). However, sometime, the bookmark node was not added as the last node of TOC. Is it possible to reorganize these nodes? If so, how?

Right now, they can be deleted or renamed. That's it. Sorry.

OK, but how could I force to add a new bookmark at the end of TOC? I tried to do so, but I was not able to manage this. It looked like the position of newly added bookmark is rather random.

Position of bookmark should depend on position on page and in document.
Bookmark on the first page should be before bookmark on the second one.
Bookmark close to bottom should be after all bookmarks above.

I thought that ... but some time it does not work well :/ Look at the attached example file (TestFile.priPrinter) where the bookmark position is wrongly calculated (the second attached file is a zipped screencast in webm format).
Playing a bit I found out that the problem is caused by the rotated picture which is the only media included in the testfile. The actual bookmark position depends on the Y coordinate of the bookmark anchor which is not correct in case of rotated picture where the position should be calculated using X coordinate. So how to fix it?

Better ... but still does not work properly (see attached files). Determination of a correct bookmark position is really complicated because the position depends on a number of different factors, as the text layout, etc. IMHO the problem cannot be solved in general without user interaction :/

Piotr

BTW. I noticed that bookmarks are not stored in priPrinter file. Is it intentional?

Thank you!

I see the problem on screenshot, but can't repeat it here.
Probably depends on something else.
In which order did you created them? One by one? from top to bottom?
Have you rotated pages before or after bookmarks creation?
Some clues will be helpful.

Not intentionally, just not implemented.

Bookmarks were created successively, one by one (see the attached video file).

I still think that the best way to do this job is to reorder them manually Posted Image Why do I think so? Look at a new test file Posted Image I can't imagine any simple and smart algorithm to calculate the proper order of bookmarks in a case of multicolumn page layout. Am I wrong?

BTW. Trying to upload *.webm file I got a message that I am not permited to upload this kind of file. Why? Are such files dangerous?

Thanks, will try to repeat and fix then.

Rest things - I thought we have manual reordering, but I was told that this is in conflict with auto bookmarks and we don't know how combine these two things together...

webm - interesting question :unsure:/>
